Abstract
Abstract This study discusses the negative impact of moneylenders on street vendors in Kranggot Market, Cilegon. This study was conducted to obtain information about the impact of loan sharks on the income of street vendors in Kranggot Market, Cilegon. In relation to this research, the researcher wants to know what is the background of traders borrowing money from moneylenders and how the impact of moneylenders' loans on the income of traders. All traders who borrow money from moneylenders know that their actions fall under the category of usury. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. Respondents of this study were traders who borrowed money from moneylenders totaling 20 (twenty) people. The results show that traders borrow money from moneylenders because the process is easy, fast, they don't have to have valuables as collateral, the loan nominal is not too large, only with trust, and can immediately receive money loans and because they are forced to. The impact of loan sharks on the income of traders is that some traders state that their income is the same as usual, some other traders state that their income is decreasing day by day. In the perspective of Islamic Economics, basically it allows humans to consume and trade whatever they want and they control from whatever is on earth, as long as the goods are lawful and good (halalan thayyiban). Most traders' capital comes from borrowed capital, own capital can only meet the capital for the next day without being able to increase capital. Therefore, the income they get with their own capital is less able to help in meeting their daily needs because of the liabilities they have.
