Abstract
The growth of minimarkets is increasingly mushrooming, there are 36 new minimarkets every year, the existence of this minimarket looks unorganized. The impact of the proliferation of minimarkets has made small business actors and traditional markets lose their income. Therefore, information is needed regarding the suitability of the minimarket location which can be taken into consideration by the Ngawi Regency government to determine whether or not the minimarket location is appropriate. The research was made using a Geographic Information System (GIS) which aims to analyze the distribution pattern of minimarkets, the suitability of minimarket reach to traditional markets and the suitability of minimarkets to strategic area spatial planning. The method used uses the Average nearest neighbor (ANN), buffer, overlay and scoring for the results of the suitability of the minimarket location, where the parameter is divided into two classes indicating appropriate (3) to not suitable (1). The results showed that the distribution of minimarket locations in Ngawi District which consisted of Alfamidi, Alfamart, Indomaret, Individual, traditional markets amounted to 36 units with a clustered distribution pattern. The suitability of these parameters is the suitability of the traditional market to the minimarket, the suitability of the minimarket to other minimarkets, the suitability of the minimarket to the RTRW. The results of the evaluation of the suitability of the location were obtained as many as 15 units of minimarkets that matched their locations, while those that did not match were 21 units of minimarkets. The main factor, which is the most in this case, minimarkets are not suitable because of the establishment of locations that are close to each other, intersect so that there is overlap and does not comply with the regulations of Ngawi Regency Regional Regulation No. 35 of 2011 concerning the management, development and arrangement of the market.
