Abstract

Settlement is one of the important human needs for a place to live or a residential environment in human life. The urgency of solving problems related to settlements such as the placement of settlement facilities and infrastructure is still often inappropriate and the construction of settlements does not pay attention to suitable places to live in. This will result in an imbalance in the availability of facilities and infrastructure for the population so that a distribution pattern is formed. This study aims to: analyze the distribution pattern of settlements in East Purwokerto District, Banyumas Regency in 2010 and 2020, analyze the development and changes in the distribution pattern of settlements in East Purwokerto District from 2010 to 2020, analyze physical factors and socio-economic factors that affect the development and changes in the distribution pattern of settlements in East Purwokerto District in 2010 and 2020. The research method is image processing with image interpretation and digitization as well as nearest neighbor analysis and overlay. The analysis method uses nearest neighbor analysis, overlay analysis and qualitative analysis. Nearest Neighbor Analysis can also work with polygon data or line data. For the calculation of polygon data using the center of the weighted average in the form of area. From these averages, it can be seen the analysis of the nearest neighbors. The results showed that the settlement pattern in 2010 in East Purwokerto District had 6 villages where there were 3 villages having a clustered pattern, 2 villages having a spreading pattern and 1 village having a uniform pattern. The settlement pattern in East Purwokerto District in 2010 was dominated by a clustered pattern. In 2020, Purwokerto Timur District has 6 villages where there are 3 villages that have a uniform pattern, 2 villages with a spreading pattern and 1 village with a clustered pattern. The settlement pattern in East Purwokerto District in 2020 is dominated by a uniform pattern. The settlement pattern of each village in East Purwokerto District from 2010 to 2020 has experienced settlement developments that can affect a settlement pattern. Changes in the pattern of settlements itself there are 4 villages, namely Kranji Village and Purwokerto Wetan Village which originally had a uniform pattern of spreading, Mersi and Arcawinangun Villages which originally had a clustered pattern to spread out. The factor that caused the pattern change from spreading to a uniform pattern in Kranji Village was more infrastructure than Purwokerto Wetan Village, while for Purwokerto Wetan Village the pattern changed from a spread pattern to a uniform pattern. district capital. The dominant factor for changing the pattern from clustering to spreading in Mersi Village is that there is no dominant factor because of low population density, relatively long distances and low public facilities compared to other villages. The change in the pattern from clustering to spreading in Arcawinangun Village is a very dense population density.
