Abstract

Paving blocks are precast concrete products composed of cement, water, sand and or without additional compositions that will not reduce the quality of the paving block itself. In the development of paving blocks, additional materials can be added that can improve the properties produced, or to reduce the amount of cement or aggregate usage to make it more economical. One way to overcome this problem is to use tile powder as an added material for fine aggregate in printing paving blocks. Tile is processed to form a fine grain. Researchers use a pyramid model printing system which from a technical point of view will cause vertical and horizontal pressure. The portion of cement and sand used in this study was 1:5 with added tile powder of 0%, 18%, 20%, 22%, and 24%. The aim was to find a comparison of compressive strength, flexural strength, water absorption, and shock strength. . From the implementation of the research, it was found that the greatest compressive strength test value was 52.50 MPa with the use of pyramid pressure plates on 20% tile powder added material, but in the water absorption test (absorption), the largest value was obtained in the use of normal plates on 0% added material. which is 1.10%. In the shock strength test, the largest potential energy value of 150.09 Joules was obtained by using a pyramid pressure plate and the addition of tile powder. And in the flexural strength test, the optimum value obtained by using the pyramid pressure plate is also 10.75 MPa.
