Abstract

This research is entitled "The Role of Mosques in Fostering Children's Morals at the Nur Hidayah Kedungsari Mosque, Kemuning, Ngargoyoso Kab. Karanganyar in 2022". The problem that is the focus of this research is how the role of the mosque in fostering the character of children in the Nur Hidayah Kedungsari Mosque, Kemuning, Ngargoyoso and what are the supporters and obstacles in efforts to foster the character of the child. With the aim of knowing what mosque activity programs are aimed at fostering children's morals and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of mosque activity programs to foster children's morals. This research was conducted with a phenomenological approach which is included in qualitative research with descriptive research properties. In this regard, the data obtained through interviews, observation and documentation methods, then continued with data analysis using qualitative descriptive methods and techniques. The results of this study indicate that the program of activities of the Nur Hidayah mosque has been carried out well so that the mosque can play a role and function as a place to foster good morals for the local community including children who run optimally so that it shows the prosperity of the Nur Hidayah mosque is achieved with indications of increasing mosque congregations participate in various program activities held at the Nur Hidayah mosque. The conclusion of the study is that mosques have an important role in efforts to foster good morals for children in the scope of non-formal education. In connection with the above conclusions, it is suggested that the internal management of the mosque needs to be guided to motivate and maintain the fighting spirit for the prosperity of the mosque by collaborating in harmony with the residents of Kedungari, Kemuning. Further research related to the factual conditions of the Nur Hidayah mosque can be continued through different disciplines.
