Abstract

This research is motivated by the need for information, education, entertainment, and access to knowledge from different parts of the world, making the media one of the primary needs for everyone. Al-Huda Wonogiri Integrated Islamic High School in providing information to the public is by utilizing various social media, one of which is Instagram. Along with the changing times, internet access is getting easier and faster. The existence of Instagram is very helpful in disseminating information, because there are quite a lot of users from Instagram. This study has the objectives of: (1) Knowing and describing the optimization of the use of Instagram social media as a public relations medium at Al-Huda Wonogiri Islamic Senior High School. (2) Knowing and describing the obstacles to using Instagram as a public relations medium at the Al-Huda Islamic Senior High School Wonogiri. This research is a type of field research with a phenomenological research approach. Researchers used data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. The data obtained were then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and verification or drawing conclusions. The validity of the data was tested by data triangulation. The results showed that the optimization of the use of Instagram social media at the Al-Huda Wonogiri Islamic High School was carried out for information media and school promotion media. Information media and promotional media are carried out by informing school activities or events. This is done so that people can find out information about Al-Huda Wonogiri Integrated Islamic High School only through smartphones and internet access, it is hoped that people will find it easier to get information online and are interested in attending Al-Huda Wonogiri Integrated Islamic High School. The obstacle faced by the Public Relations of the Al-Huda Wonogiri Integrated Islamic High School in the use of the first Instagram social media is that the jobdesk carried out by the Deputy Head of Public Relations and the Public Relations Staff of the publication section are not only about social media, especially Instagram, so it is time to discuss or face to face discussing content. which will be published is also minimal. In addition, because of the large number of job desks, sometimes the Deputy Head of Public Relations and Public Relations Staff are late to publish the content that has been created. Another obstacle faced is that editing tools such as mobile phones cannot be accessed every day, so the content editing process is also limited.
