Abstract
This study analyzes the use of youtube to increase students vocabulary for grade VII at SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Surakarta. This study aims to explain the application of using Youtube in teaching vocabulary and describe youtube increase student vocabulary. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were teachers and 20 students. To collect data, researchers used observation and interviews. The results of the study show that there are learning procedures through youtube including orientation, formulating the problem, formulating a hypothesis, collecting data, testing the hypothesis, and formulating conclusions. To increase students’ vocabulary, it was found that Youtube is interesting, providies English language-based contents, and having translation tools. The conclusion is that Youtube can increase students' vocabulary at SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Surakarta.
