Abstract

This study analyzed the single parenthood life of the main character and the impact of the conflicts that the main character faces. Therefore, the present researcher was able to determine the aspect of the single parenthood life of the main character from the text and messages that existed in the film. The study used content analysis techniques. This research uses Alfred Adler’s individual psychological theory to analyze the data. The data is collected from primary and secondary data sources; the film itself becomes primary data sources and previous research, online websites, thesis, journals related to this research into secondary data sources. The present researcher used note-taking/copy-paste and image-capturing techniques in collecting data. This study shows that the main character in this film can be analyzed using Alfred Adler's individual psychology theory with six main points, namely fictional finalism, striving for superiority, inferiority feeling, social interest, style of life, and creative power. In addition, Kurt Lewin's theory of psychological conflict can also be reflected in the role of the main character and has an impact on the main character. The types of psychological conflicts include the approach-approach conflict, the avoidance-avoidance conflict, and the approach-avoidance conflict.
