Abstract

Most of the final year students believe that the preparation of thesis assignments is a difficult and scary thing. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of self-efficacy to the anxiety of final year students who were working on their thesis. The hypothesis of this research is that there is a negative relationship between self-efficacy and anxiety in final year students who are working on thesis assignments. This research uses correlational quantitative methods. The population in this study was final year students who were taking the thesis of State Universities (PTN) and Private Universities (PTS) in Central Java. A sample of 205 students was determined by purposive sampling. Data collection tools using the Anxiety Scale and Self-Efficacy Scale. The data analysis technique uses product moment correlation. The calculation results show that there is a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and anxiety with a value (rxy) of -0.736 with a Sig value. p = 0.000 (p < 0.01). In this way, the higher the self-efficacy a student has, the lower the anxiety of final year students.
