Abstract
The mosque is one of the Islamic educational institutions that has a strategic role in organizing various social worship activities. A case study with the title, “IMPLEMENTATION OF STANDARDS FOR MOSQUE MANAGEMENT AS A ISLAMIC EDUCATION INSTITUTION IN THE SURAKARTA GREAT MOSQUE IN 2022”, was conducted to describe the implementation of mosque management at the Great Mosque of Surakarta. Research data obtained through triangulation methods, namely: 1) observation, 2) documentation, and 3) interviews. The results of the research show that: 1) the Ageng Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat Mosque can be classified as the Great Mosque in terms of the aspects of mosque institutional management, mosque activities, and mosque maintenance, 2) the institutional management of the Surakarta Grand Mosque in general has been well organized according to the provisions in mosque management standards. determined by the Director General of BMI, it's just that the legality of the mosque land certificate does not yet exist, 3) the management of the activities of the Great Mosque of Surakarta in general has been well implemented according to the provisions in the mosque management standards set by the Director General of BMI, only educational institutions at the university and bank level sharia has not been implemented, 4) the management of the maintenance of the Great Mosque of Surakarta has been running smoothly. However, there are no clear guidelines that contain provisions for the maintenance of the grand mosque itself, and 5) obstacles in the governance of the Great Mosque of Surakarta, such as: the diversity of backgrounds of the mosque administrators, the lack of flexibility of the mosque in its management, and the operational costs of the mosque.
