Abstract
Interpersonal communication is one way to build a sense of comfort for the youth of YPAC Surakarta dormitory. YPAC Surakarta accepts many boarding children each year and many boarding children graduate from that place. The communication that exists between the caregivers and the boarding children is quite good, because the caregivers are experienced. This study aims to explain the interpersonal communication that takes place between caregivers and adolescent dormitories as well as efforts to reduce uncertainty by youth dormitory YPAC Surakarta. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Using two types of data, namely primary and secondary in collecting related information. The results showed that they were able to adjust themselves slowly in the YPAC Surakarta environment. Although they initially rebelled, all the caregivers did not run out of ideas to bring order to the teenagers. It is not easy to establish in-depth communication with children with disabilities. Gradually, youth with disabilities began to get used to the rules and environment at YPAC Surakarta. The uncertainty that adolescents with disabilities experience begins to decrease with efforts to adjust and the courage to get closer to mingling with other friends.
