Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country whose territory holds natural wealth, stretching from Sabang to Merauke, where the potential for natural resources is very diverse, namely in the field of new and renewable energy. Energy is an important aspect of economic and social development. The energy sector has a key role in supporting the development of a country. Based on IEA/US data,Indonesia's oil production has been declining since the 2000s. Even in 2006, the state of Indonesia has officially left the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). In 2021 and beyond, with issues of migration from fossil fuel-based diesel/otto vehicles to battery-based electric vehicles (KBLBB) / electric vehicles (EV), of course in the future will change the national electricity consumption map towards the consumption trend of developed countries. In relation to the direction of development and national energy policy, the government has invited Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 5/2006 in order to ensure the security and sustainability of energy supply in the country. Renewable energy potential includes wind/wind energy, geothermal energy, ocean energy, hydro energy, solar energy, and bioenergy energy.
