Abstract

PT. Kubota Indonesia is a company that produces diesel engines in various types of models. When changing models, especially in the Cylinder Head line, it is necessary to change the supporting components such as jigs and programs on CNC machines. The purpose of this study was to analyze the causes of the length of time setting the model change so that improvements can be made to improve productivity and time efficiency in the Cylinder Head line. This line is one of the lines that has 11 processes in PT. Kubota Indonesia. Analysis of data collected using the time study method is then analyzed by eliminating ineffective movements. So it can be seen the effective time to make the process of setting the model change. The duration of setting the change of model is also influenced by the operator's skills and the placement of supporting materials. Based on the calculation results, the duration of setting the initial model change is 3.49 hours. After analyzing the removal of ineffective movements, it was found that the time was 3.38 hours and found that some ineffective movements could be reduced or even eliminated if the operator worked with focus and was supervised by the inspector.
