Abstract

Machine is the main source for a manufacturing company to produce a product. Therefore, the effectiveness enhancement of the machine is very important for the company itself to increase its productivity. This study aimed to measure the effectiveness level of the injection moulding machine at PT. COSMETIC MIRROR INDONESIA. In this case, the method that has been used is Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The measurement of OEE is used by looking into three important things, which are: the availability of the machine (availability rate), the total amount produced (performance rate) and the quality generated (quality rate). Based on the results of the research, it was found that the OEE’s grade on the injection moulding machine is still below the global standard that determined by JIPM (Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance) which is 85%. To improve and to develop this case, it is needed to make an identification for things that cause the problem. To find it out, fishbone diagram can be applied. So that, it will be easy for the company to provide an appropriate and to handle in a proper way. Keywords:Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Availability Rate, Performance
