Abstract
Pemalang Regency is one of regencies in Central Java Province. Pemalang Regency has topographic conditions ranging from coastal areas, lowlands, highlands, and mountainous areas. The cause of the flood disaster in Pemalang Regency, was due to the high intensity of rainfall, and the poor drainage system of the waterways. This study aims to analyze the level of susceptibility to flooding, and analyze the handling of flood disaster mitigation in Pemalang Regency. This research method uses secondary data analysis. The types of variables needed are slope, land height (elevation), soil type, rainfall, and land use. Processing of flood hazard data with scoring and overlay methods. Processing of flood mitigation data using analysis of the level of flood susceptibility, and the factour that cause flooding. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis and analysis of the weighting of each variabel. The results of this study indicate: 1) Pemalang Regency has 4 levels of flood susceptibility, namely not prone to flooding by 0,16% covering the western part, less prone to flooding by 29,65% covering the central to south part, prone to flooding by 40,18% covering from the north to the south, and is very prone to flooding byl 30,02% covering the north and central. 2) Handling flood mitigation recommendations in Pemalang Regency consists of several efforts. Mitigation efforts that are not prone to flooding are reforestation (reforestation) forest areas, mitigation efforts that are less prone to flooding are counseling and public understanding of flood disasters, efforts to handle flood-prone mitigation are improving drainage system channels and making infiltration wells. Mitigation efforts are very prone to flooding, namely early warning systems and building infrastructure.
