Abstract
DAMIU is currently used as a solution to meet the need for cheap and practical drinking water. The quality of drinking water to be produced must be good and meet the standards in the bacteriological aspect. To maintain the quality of drinking water produced, it is nECessary to check the drinking water by the relevant agencies. The more people's need for cheap and practical bottled water, the more DAMIUs are popping up. In Karanganyar, there are 9 DAMIU that will be sampled for research on bacteriological aspECts. This research was conducted because there were several DAMIUs who did not check regularly. The purpose of this study was to see how the description or presence or absence of Coliform bacteria in 9 samples of DAMIU drinking water in Karanganyar District, Karanganyar Regency. Drinking water can be said to meet the standards if the content of Coliform bacteria in drinking water is 0/100 ml of drinking water samples according to the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 492/Menkes/Per/IV/ 2010. The research method used in this study is descriptive with drinking water samples taken from 9 DAMIU in Karanganyar District, Karanganyar Regency. Furthermore, testing of drinking water samples at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Muhammadiyah University, Surakarta, was carried out using Compact Dry EC media. The results that have been found are the presence of coliform bacteria in 3 drinking water samples or 33.33% in the tested samples. DAMIU managers are expECted to be able to maintain sanitation hygiene and also carry out maintenance on tools used in sterilization on a regular basis. The relevant agencies are also expected to carry out regular checks in order to maintain the quality of the drinking water produced is always good and suitable for consumption by the community.
