Abstract
This study aims to determine the meaning and messages contained in the animated Nussa show as a medium for preaching to children. The reason the researcher chose the animated Nussa show is because it is hoped that it will be easy for children to reach, who are usually more interested in learning something visually appealing. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The researcher uses the Semiotic Theory by Roland Barthes to find out the sign of the message of da'wah in the animation Nussa which develops semiotics into two levels of signification, namely denotative and connotative. The object of research is the animation of Nussa episodes “Belajar Ikhlas”, “Cintai Mereka”, “Adab Menguap”, dan “Tolong dan Terima Kasih”, the unit of analysis is the audio and visual of several scenes that have da'wah values in them. The results of this study obtained the meaning of connotation, denotation, and myth in several Nussa animation scenes. Then the verbal da'wah message is shown from the words and advice shown by the characters in the Nussa and Rara animation, the nonverbal da'wah message is shown from the gesture or movement given by the characters in the Nussa and Rara animation.
