Abstract

This study aims to describe the role, constraints and solutions to overcome the obstacles of the village government in preserving the yaaqowiyyu tradition in Jatinom Village, Jatinom District, Klaten Regency. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. This research design uses a case study. The subjects in this study were the lurah, kelurahan staff, community leaders and the committee for the implementation of the yaaqowiyyu tradition. Data collection techniques are using observation, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data is done by using source triangulation and technical triangulation. The data analysis used in this research is an interactive model of data analysis. The indicators in this study include: (1) Protection, (2) Development, (3) Utilization. The results of this study indicate that the role of the village government in preserving the yaaqowiyyu tradition is quite good. The protection of the village government in preserving traditions is quite good, because it cooperates with community leaders to coordinate conservation efforts. The development carried out by the village government in preserving the yaaqowiyyu tradition has also been quite good,because the government always gives positive appreciation to P3KAG or Ki Ageng Gribig's management and every year holds discussions and workshops for the benefit of developing traditions. In terms of utilization, the kelurahan government also socializes and appeals to the public that with the implementation of this tradition, it can be used to improve economic welfare. Obstacles that arise in the role of the village government in preserving traditions such as limited funds and differences in the way people view traditions. efforts to overcome these obstacles such as mobilizing concerned people, holding meetings or socialization to discuss traditions and then if there are those who do not, they are still respected
