Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of pressure, opportunity, rationalization, and ability on academic cheating students majoring in accounting and institutional finance at SMK Negeri 1 Purwodadi. This research is a type of quantitative research using a survey research design with 104 students as respondents from a total of 140 students who were taken using purposive sampling. Respondent criteria needed in this study were students who attended SMK Negeri 1 Purwodadi, students majored in accounting and financial institutions, and students who were in class XI and XII. The results of this study indicate that: (1) partial pressure has a significant effect on academic cheating with the results of the calculation of the significance value = 0.000 <0.05 and tcount = 7, 520 > ttable 1,984; (2) The opportunity partially has a significant effect on academic cheating with the results of the calculation of the significance value = 0.004 < 0.05 and t = 2.593 > t table 1.984; (3) Partial rationalization has no significant effect on academic cheating with the results of the calculation of the significance value = 0.451 > 0.05 and t = 0.756 < t table 1.984; (4) Ability partially has a significant negative effect on academic cheating with the results of the calculation of the significance value = 0.011 <0.05 and tcount = 2,594 > ttable 1,984; (5) Pressure, opportunity, rationalization, and ability simultaneously affect academic cheating. This is based on the results of the simultaneous test calculation Fcount = 29, 845 > Ftable = 2.46 with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05.
