Abstract
The Gonggang Reservoir stems the flow of the Gonggang River which is a tributary of the Madiun River with a catchment area of 12,657 km2 located in Ledok Hamlet, Janggan Village, Poncol District, Magetan Regency with the main function of overcoming the shortage of raw water needs for people in the SouthernMagetan region. . In addition to the main function, with the reservoir there will be retention of water flow which causes the peak of the flood to be damped. Although the analysis of peak flood attenuation has beencarried out by consultants with different methods, it is necessary to try other analyzes using the Newton Rapshon, Runge Kutta Order II and Runge Kutta Order III methods. This research was conducted using secondary data obtained from various sources with rainfall data for the 2011-2020 period, reservoir characteristics data and a watershed map of the Gonggang Reservoir. Attenuation analysis is done by comparing the peak of the flood before and after the reservoir. Prior to the existence of the reservoir, flood tracing was carried out with a Q1000 discharge on the original river using HEC-RAS 4.1.0. produces a maximum discharge of 58,738 m3/s. After the reservoir, flood tracing analysis using the Newton Rapshon method resulted in a maximum outflow of 27,1933 m3/s (52,31% attenuation), flood tracking analysis usingthe Runge Kutta method of Order II resulted in a maximum outflow of 28,0099 m3/s (52,31% attenuation) and flood tracking analysis using the Runge Kutta method of Order III resulted in a maximum outflow of 28,7803 m3/s (51 % attenuation).
