Abstract
Parenting is the attitude and way that parents do in providing education, guidance, protection, attention and direction for their children in daily life, so that children can monitor adults and be independent so they can socialize with their social environment well. While forming a religious character is a real effort that is carried out consciously and planned in humans who behave well, which builds from the human heart and is manifested in the form of daily behavior. This study discusses the Parenting Patterns of Parents in Forming the Religious Character of Early Adolescents in Sumberejo Hamlet, Trobayan Village, Kalijambe District, Sragen Regency. which aims to describe the parenting applied by parents in shaping the religious character of early adolescents and describe the constraints of parenting. This research is a qualitative research with a field research model in Dukuh Sumberejo, Trobayan Village, Kalijambe District, Sragen Regency with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation, from primary data sources. Data analysis used inductive thinking with an analysis model starting from data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, and testing the validity of the data with triangulation techniques.The results showed that there were 3 parenting patterns in shaping the religious character of early adolescents in Hamlet, they were varied, namely authoritarian parenting, parents taking actions to punish children such as twisting them when children do not pray, caught storing cigarette packs in their rooms, scolding children, advising children. democratic parenting by paying attention to their children and advice not to play too often, always asking permission when they want to go. When a child makes a mistake, the punishment given is very simple, such as confiscation of a motorbike key, but on the other hand, parents also advise children, teach them to do good and get used to them. Permittive parenting, where parents pay little attention to children's activities, on the other hand, parents also occasionally give advice to children. Obstacles encountered by parents include low education factors, namely there are only elementary school graduates, low economic status the majority of farmers and factory workers, and a bad environment such as lack of religious activities, and the majority of parents' thinking is low in supporting children's education
