Abstract
21st century skills can grow and increase cooperation in a group to solve certain problems, one of which is critical thinking skills. This research was carried out with the aim of describing the Needs Analysis of the STEM-Oriented Project Based Learning Model to improve critical thinking skills of elementary school students. This type of research is qualitative research. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach. The development model is 4D at the Define stage. The samples involved were 3 Class 6 teachers at SDN 1 Girimarto, SDN 4 Girimarto, and SDN 3 Selorejo selected by Stratified Random Sample. Data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The data analysis technique used the Cress Well model. Test the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate, based on needs analysis in the field, it is necessary to develop a model that can improve critical thinking skills of elementary school students, namely the STEM Oriented Project Based Learning Model. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the STEM-Oriented Project Based Learning Model can improve critical thinking skills of elementary school students.
