Abstract

Inflation is a process of increasing prices in general and continuously, if the price of goods and services in the country increases, then inflation increases. This research aims to estimate the direction and magnitude of the influence of interest rates, rupiah exchange rates, exports and foreign debt on inflation in Indonesia during the period 1995-2020 using multiple regression analysis tools with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) approach. The results showed that interest rates, exports and foreign debt negatively affect inflation, while exchange rates had a positive effect on inflation in Indonesia in 1995-2020. The government is expected to be able to always coordinate with the Central Bank related to reducing the money supply. The government is expected to control the inflation rate by carrying out policies that can affect inflation such as interest rates, U.S. dollar rates and the money supply.
