Abstract
This study aims to develop learning innovations carried out by teachers in PAI learning for class VII at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Ngawi, and identify obstacles that exist in learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Ngawi for the academic year 2021/2022. In this study, the writer uses a qualitative descriptive method, which is based on observations and interviews with PAI subject teachers and seventh grade students, so this research is very dependent on the author's role in the process of collecting data and interpreting data. The data obtained by the authors are based on data from the VII grade PAI subject teachers, VII grade students, and the TU documents of SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Ngawi. Based on the results of research through observation and interviews using source triangulation techniques, it can be concluded that several PAI innovations are using the method of memorizing each key word, always providing motivation, and practicing the material that has been taught.
