Abstract

Ceper District is administratively located in Klaten Regency, which has a bamboo root craft business. Bamboo root craft business is one of the small industries that can grow, where Ceper District is an industrial area. This study aims to (1) Knowing the characteristics of the socio-economic conditions of the bamboo root business owner in Ceper District, (2) Analysing the sustainability of the bamboo root craft business in Ceper District, and (3) Knowing the scope of marketing bamboo root craft business in Ceper District. The population is all bamboo root craft business owners with a total of 25 business owners. Data was collected by interviewing respondents using a query sheet to obtain supporting data information. The research method used by the researcher is frequency table analysis, cross table analysis and geography analysis. The results of this study are based on the socio-economic characteristics of the male bamboo root craft business owners of 98% and some business owners of productive age are still able to work to meet their daily needs. Business owners who have the highest education level are SMA/SMK graduates by 56%. The longest established businesses range from 10 to 20 years. Factors influencing the sustainability of the bamboo root craft business include capital, raw materials and labor. The average business owner obtains raw materials from middlemen that come from outside the Ceper District. The results of the production of bamboo root crafts has an income of Rp. 15,000,000 to Rp. 20,000,000 every month. The marketing range of bamboo root crafts in Ceper District is up to outside the province and abroad. The pattern of the distribution of bamboo root crafts in the research area uses the nearest neighbor analysis method, which is random which can be seen from the map of the Distribution of Business Locations.
