Abstract
Stunting causes developmental delays due to suboptimal nutrition, infectious diseases, and psychosocial problems. In the results of a preliminary study at the Sukoharjo Health Center, data on stunting toddlers in 2021 in Sukoharjo District was 10.39%. Bulakrejo Village is one of the villages in Sukoharjo District with a fairly high percentage of stunting cases according to the TB/U index, which is 18.25% of the total 208 toddlers aged 24-60 months. This study aims to determine the correlation between the history of exclusive breastfeeding and calcium intake in infants aged 24-60 months with the incidence of stunting in Bulakrejo Village, Sukoharjo Regency. This type of research is an observational study with a cross sectional approach. The sample is 74 toddlers. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling using consecutive sampling method. Methods of data collection using a questionnaire and interview form SQ-FFQ. The results showed that children who were exclusively breastfed were 23 (63.9%) stunted, based on calcium intake, the highest incidence of stunting was 24 (64.9%). Based on the Chi Square test between history of exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting, a value of (p = 0.020; RR 95%CI 1.743 (1.069-2.812) was obtained, while between calcium intake and the incidence of stunting, a value was obtained (p = 0.011; RR 95%CI 1.846 (1.122-3.037)). From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that toddlers with stunting conditions get exclusive breastfeeding significantly than toddlers who do not get exclusive breastfeeding and there is a significant correlation between calcium intake and the incidence of stunting. From the research that has been carried out it is necessary to increase information through related counseling fulfillment of food sources high in calcium and provision of adequate complementary feeding programs for mothers of children under five.
