Abstract

Selo District is a sub-district in Boyolali Regency. One of the highlands that has very cool air among other districts. The need for safe land along with the rapidly growing population in the Selo sub-district in order to improve the economy because the Selo area is one of the tourist objects that are often visited by people outside and within the area itself. The purpose of this research is to be a benchmark in a spatial improvement and land improvement so that landslides do not occur which can be dangerous. This research method uses a survey supported by remote sensing. The results of this study look at the impact of environmental aspects that carry out regional sustainable development which increases the regional economy. The need for land along with the rapidly growing population in Selo District in order to improve the economy by improving land to make it safer and more comfortable for the surrounding community. Selo District, which is a mountain slope area between Mount Merapi and Merbabu, is very suitable for the development of agricultural businesses, especially horticultural crops (vegetables) and plantation crops, especially tobacco. The soil in Selo District is dry soil with brown litosol and brown andosol soil types.
