Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that occurred around the world caused restrictions on social interactions due to rapid transmission and great risk so that all activities were carried out online to reduce activities outside the home, especially in the field of education so that lectures were also carried out online. With these restrictions on social interaction and online activities, it can cause a sense of student loneliness due to the absence of social interaction or relationships and sudden changes in the situation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between social support and loneliness in students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The sample in this study consisted of 222 active students who were conducting education at ptn and pts in the Central Java region during the Covid-19 pandemic by sampling using the Incidental Sampling method. Data collection used the social support scale and the UCLA Loneliness UCLA scale version 3. Analisis data using correlation test with product moment. The results of this study showed a correlation value (r) of Error! Reference source not found.0.698 and a significance of 0.00 (p < 0.05) which means that there is a very significant negative relationship between social support and loneliness. With the contribution of social support of 48.8% to loneliness and the remaining 51.2% is influenced by other factors.
