Abstract
The increasing population is the main triggering factor for the waste problem in Klaten Regency. Waste problems must be balanced with proper waste management so as not to cause side effects for the surrounding environment and society. This study aims to analyze the service range of the waste management site to residential areas in Klaten Regency and analyze the suitability of the service capacity of the waste management site in Klaten Regency with the surrounding population. This study uses a survey method with primary and secondary data through field observations, and the sample used is 20 points or all 3R TPS in Klaten Regency. The analysis of the service coverage of the waste management site uses a Network Analyst or network analysis, so that the service area can be identified and determine service limits in accordance with the Minister of Public Works Regulation Number 03/PRT/M/2013 article 30 paragraph (1) letter (e) that "Placement of TPS is as close as possible with a service area within a radius of not more than 1 km”. Serviced settlements are measured by the number of houses located within a radius of 1 km from the TPS location, assuming each house consists of 4 ART (Household Members) in accordance with the regulations for making waste management sites. The results showed that the waste management sites in Klaten Regency had not been able to reach all areas in Klaten Regency, there were 20 waste management sites in Klaten Regency spread over 18 sub-districts out of a total of 26 sub-districts, there were 8 sub-districts in Klaten Regency that did not yet have waste management sites, so it is necessary to add TPS points to optimize waste management in Klaten Regency. The total population of 1,012,794 people in Katen Regency is only 152,892 people or 7.67% who have been served, meaning that there are 92.33% or 859,902 residents who do not enter the radius of the 3R TPS service coverage. The capacity of the Klaten Regency TPS is already able to accommodate waste generation from settlements within a 1 km radius. The existence of 20 TPS 3R in Klaten Regency is able to serve 64,190 houses and 256,760 residents.
