One of the problems that arise in the world of electricity is the supply of PLN power which is not always available. The occurrence of a total blackout is very disturbing activities that use electrical energy sources. Time efficiency’s very important to switch the power source to a backup power source. However, the problem can be solved by using another power source. Therefore, this study designed an automatic switch device or known as ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch). This tool can work in the following ways can switch the main power source PLN when the main power source suddenly dead to back up power source genset. The automatic transfer switch device is controlled using a relay component that functions as a connector and voltage breaker. The performance of this tool has 3 conditions. The first condition is when PLN as the main source of life is in charge of providing power supply to the load. The second condition is when PLN as the main source of death is replaced using a backup source, namely a generator. The second condition requires a time delay of 3 seconds using the source to turn on the generator automatically. The third condition is when PLN as the main source comes back to life when the generator as a backup power supply is being used. In conditions of activity the generator will automatically turn off and the voltage will be flowed using PLN with a 3 second delay to the load. The time delay used serves to prevent collisions that occur between PLN power and generators. The collision resulted in damaged components and damage to household appliances. The design of this automatic transfer switch tool is equipped with IoT-based monitoring with parameters tested including the amount of voltage, current, and source usage. Important data readings are carried out using the PZEM 004-T sensor. This monitoring tool is supported by a web server with a database for storing data and a website to monitor backup capabilities with a sending speed of 1000 milliseconds.
