Abstract
This study aims to determine the representation of educational culture in the film Jembatan Pensil. The theory used is representation by Stuart Hall and semiotics by Roland Barthes, by focusing on the scene and taking several movie scenes to see the categories of representation of educational culture contained in the film Jembatan Pensil. This research is a cultural studies research that tries to uncover an ideology that may be hidden or deliberately hidden in culture. With cultural studies, the study of communication can be expanded to reveal hidden meanings, so it is not only focused on describing media content. The type of research in this study is descriptive qualitative and uses a purposive sampling technique. Data retrieval using documentation, and then researchers carry out a process of meaning based on reality through existing theories. The results of the analysis show that there are three categories of representation in this film, namely low teacher welfare, unequal access and educational facilities, and bullying emergency in Indonesian education.
