Abstract
This study aims to analyze the socioeconomic impact of the baritan sea alms tradition. The method used is qualitative descriptive research with ethnographic research design. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. Research results 1. Positive socioeconomic impact, the people of Asemdoyong village have a sense of community and tolerance among fellow people that does not distinguish them from tribes, religions, education during the baritan tradition ceremony. The community mutually cooperates from preparation to the peak of the baritan tradition ceremony by means of dues, devotional work, becoming donors. The community can introduce tourist attractions that can be visited by local and foreign tourists so as to support the community's economy. 2. Negative socioeconomic impacts, such as some asemdoyong village communities still consider that the baritan tradition if not implemented will have a bad impact on fishermen and local communities. Then the outbreak of garbage because many visitors littered so that it polluted the environment. The number of people at the time of the event and even the performance of dangdut made many visitors drink liquor. 3. Socioeconomic changes result in people working together to make the baritan event a success. They are also able to introduce the baritan tradition to local and foreign communities. The chairman got a high hand when the event started. Traders can increase their income because their merchandise is sold out. The large number of visitors who watched the event made the parking attendant open up the land to increase income.
