Abstract

This research was conducted because the background of the problem is the lack of religious understanding and the moral behavior of students studying at TPQ. The object of this research is the Quran Education Park (TPQ) at the Al-Muttaqiin Mosque, Malangjiwan hamlet. This study discusses and to find out how persuasive communication of TPQ teachers at Masjid Al-Muttaqiin Malangjiwan in providing religious teaching and shaping student behavior. The research theory in analyzing teacher persuasive communication is the Elaboration Likelihood Model theory with a focus on selecting the central path and the peripheral path. In this study, the method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection using in-depth interviews and observation techniques. The sampling in this study was determined through a purposive sampling technique, namely choosing the sample deliberately based on considerations determined by the researcher, namely 5 teachers who had taught TPQ for at least 1 year based on the grade level of teaching at Al-Muttaqiin Mosque Malangjiwan as informants. Data processing and analysis techniques in this study used an interactive analysis model. The results of this study indicate that persuasive communication of teachers to students can be successful through two acceptance channels, namely the central route and the peripheral route according to the Elaboration Likelihood Model theory by focusing on influencing religious understanding and the formation of student behavior both cognitively, affectively, and conatively.
