Abstract

Environmental issues have always been an important issue in the midst of climate change and global drought, but the index of indifference to the environment is recorded to be low, coupled with agrarian conflicts that occur between the people as land owners and government interests, as well as Instagram accounts that have been in the hot spotlight some time ago have made researchers interested in researching. researching persuasive messages by @wadas_melawan on Instagram social media. Using the Elaboration Likelihood Model theory, the researcher tries to describe how environmental communication persuasion messages are conveyed on Instagram. This research uses quantitative content analysis method, with several categories, namely message format, message type, message framing, and message route. The results show that Instagram can be used properly by the @wadas_melawan account in conveying a persuasive message of environmental communication. This finding is from research findings which state that the peripheral pathway which is the peripheral pathway has a higher frequency. However, the quality of the argument that dominates is the type of strong argument. An interesting finding is that there are fewer types of action messages than opinion and information types. From the results of the analysis, Instagram social media is more dominant in facilitating peripheral routes than central routes.
