Abstract

The role of the Komatsu WA 200-3 Wheel Loader unit in the industrial world is very dependent on transmission components. This is because it affects the performance of the wheel loader. One of the transmission components is the bearing support if the bearing component is damaged, the productivity of the wheel loader will decrease when operating. Then intensive and periodic maintenance is needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the type of bearing damage, the causes of bearing damage and how to repair bearings on the Komatsu WA 200-3 Wheel Loader unit. The implementation is carried out by visual inspection of the bearing support and continued by disassembly and assembly to determine bearing damage. From the results of the disassembly process, the bearing support was damaged, namely wear so that it could not channel perfect rotation to the drive shaft which caused the wheel loader to not run perfectly. The cause of bearing damage is due to continuous use, insufficient maintenance and bearing life. The repair step is to replace the damaged bearing with a new one. Preventive measures by conducting preventive maintenance and daily checks.
