Abstract
Low engine power is a condition where the power generated from the engine decreases, causing the unit to not operate optimally. This analysis aims to determine the types of damage to low power diesel engines, the causes of low power diesel engines, and how to repair low power diesel engines. The inspection procedure begins with checking the engine oil, oil filter, turbocharger fuel filter, and fuel injection pump (FIP) components. Next, analyze the low power diesel engine by disassembly and continue checking. The results found that the intake valve pushrods and exhaust valves in cylinders 1 to 6 were worn out. The cause of this happened because the mechanic did not perform regular maintenance both before and after the unit operated, the timing valve clearance has a large enough gap so that adjusting valve clearance cannot be done, and the pushrod component materials are not in accordance with the standard part book. The repair step is to replace the pushrod component with a new one (replace).
