Abstract

PT. Intan Pariwara Klaten is a company engaged in the publishing and printing of subject and general books which are marketed throughout Indonesia. There are many electrical equipment in the building that is used to support the book publishing process. So it requires a proper and safe protection system so that the insulation resistance test is carried out. Insulation resistance is the resistance value of 2 insulated cable wires. Besides electricity has many benefits, electricity can also be dangerous if the user does not understand the electrical system used. Electricity in Indonesia is installed based on the General Electrical Installation Requirements (PUIL) 2011. For the smooth publication of good and quality textbooks, a team and place with adequate facilities are needed, therefore a grounding system with appropriate standards is needed, so that the team and all publishing equipment can be protected from damage caused by disturbances such as lightning strikes which can cause damage to electronic equipment and can endanger employees in the building. There are several types of grounding systems that are often used such as single rod, multi rod, and grid systems. The grounding system used at PT Intan Pariwara Klaten uses a single rod type with a total of 8 air terminations (lightning rods) in the main building (headoffice) with a total number of 8 rod electrodes. Insulation resistance is an important part of an electrical installation. The method used in this research is analyzing the testing factor, measuring with the Earth Tester and Megger Test tools, calculating, and simulating the ETAP 12.6 program. The results obtained from the study are the value of the grounding resistance of each electrode with the smallest value of 0.16 and the highest value of 2.12 , the data obtained are appropriate. The results of the calculation of the ground resistance obtained a value of 4.28 at all electrode points. The results of the measurement of the insulation resistance of the NYM 3 x 2.5 mm2 type cable obtained the insulation resistance value, some are listed as Overload (OL) and some are nominal. The result of the simulation of the grounding system is the value of the grounding resistance 2. Testing of grounding and insulation resistance is declared feasible.
