Abstract

Renewable energy is basically energy that comes from natural resources that can be renewed or available continuously, such as wind. Human needs that continue to increase but are not matched by the availability of adequate stock of resources. New and renewable energy (EBT) is a solution to replace fossil energy sources that will run out. One form of utilization of renewable resources is the Wind Power Plant (PLTB). An important component in the application of PLTB is the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) technology which can be used for optimal wind turbines but at low speeds, although there is still little research that discusses the development of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generators (PMSG) in Indonesia. Research was conducted by designing a quarter model of PMSG 12 slot 8 pole using MagNet Infolytica software based on Finite Element Method (FEM). The test of this research uses 2 variables, variations in umbrella geometry and variations in magnetic thickness. Each variable has 3 variations. The variable thickness of the magnet uses variations in thickness of 6mm, 10mm and 12mm. The results of this test on the first variable, namely the variation of the geometric shape of the umbrella obtained the highest Back-Emf constant value in the second variation with a value of 0.218559 Vs/rad. While in the second variable, namely the magnetic thickness variable, the highest Back-Emf constant value is obtained in the 1st variation or 6mm magnetic thickness with a value of 0.074583 Vs/rad.
