Abstract

SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom is a private school organized by the PCM (Majelis Dikdasmen) Educational Council of Jatinom City. The dynamics of education in Indonesia are in line with developments that occur in Indonesia. Building the education sector must follow existing developments, namely in accordance with community developments, advances in knowledge, and technology. The purpose of this study is to describe the periodization of the development of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom and the supporting and inhibiting factors in its development. This research is a field research with a historical qualitative approach. There are four stages in research using a historical approach, namely: 1) Heuristics, the researcher uses observation and interviews with related figures in order to obtain maximum data, and is equipped with data from the literature. 2) Verification, Verification is carried out to obtain the validity of the source. 3) Interpretation, carried out to describe and unify data related to the history of the development of SMK Muhamadiyah 2 Jatinom. 4) Historiography, the interpreted data is then written in descriptive narrative form. The results showed that in its development SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom experienced three stages of periodization which included: 1) Pioneering Period 2) Development Period, 3) Expansion Period. In each period there are supporting and inhibiting factors. The inhibiting factor in the first period is socialization to the community. While the internal supporting factors are PCM Jatinom and AUM. The supporting factor for the second period is that educators are increasing and are in accordance with their respective expertise competencies. The number of students is increasing. The inhibiting factor is that the infrastructure has increased but is still limited. The inhibiting factor in the third period was in terms of the industry which was increasing rapidly so that schools were overwhelmed to keep up with its development. The main supporting factor of school facilities and infrastructure is always increasing.
