Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia prompted the government to issue policies to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, was no exception, who proposed the "Central Java at Home" policy, but this policy actually reaped many pros and cons among regional heads and the people of Central Java. This case has been in the spotlight of the media who have contributed to the distribution of correct information, including the online media Kompas.com and Suara Merdeka.com. This study aims to find out how the analysis of framing on Ganjar Pranowo's policy coverage of "Central Java at Home Only" in the online media Kompas.com and Suara Merdeka.com editions of 01-15 February 2021 and how the construction in the online media Kompas.com and Suara Merdeka.com on the news coverage of Ganjar Pranowo's policy "Central Java at Home" edition 01-15 February 2021. The framing model used in this study is Robert N. Entman's framing model. This study uses four elements of framing as an analytical tool, namely Define Problems, Diagnose Cause, Make Moral Judgment, and Treatment Recommendation. Through the analysis of these four elements, the results of the study show that the selection of issues presented by Kompas.com is related to the issue of local government performance in efforts to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus in Central Java, while Suara Merdeka.com highlights issues related to the pros and cons of the "Central Java at Home" policy. proposed by Ganjar Pranowo. In addition, there are factors that influence Kompas.com and Suara Merdeka.com in constructing reality on the news, namely individual factors, media routine factors, media ideology factors, and extramedia factors.
