At this time technology plays an important role, technology has become an inseparable part of everyday life. One of them is the internet of things which is used to connect electronic components to the internet. The design of this IoT-based gas leak detector uses NodeMCU as a platform to connect sensors to the internet. A gas detector is instalLED to detect flammable and accumulated gas leaks that can cause an explosion hazard, to anticipate this, a tool to detect and give warnings via smartphones is made, in this design the MQ-2 gas sensor. One NodemMCU module, buzzer, LED, and LCD (Liquid Crystal display) for indicators and penampiling outputs. All components are assembLED in a box. the gas detector works to detect gas in a certain room, the sensor will send a signal to the NodeMCU as a control unit. the signal from the sensor is an analog signal then converted to a digital signal this process is called ENCODER, then the receiving device will receive the digital signal by translating it into an analog signal this process is called a DECODER. the output of the sensor that has been processed by the NodeMCU output will be penampiled on the LCD, LED, buzzer and smartphone applications. This device works optimally.
