Abstract

Electricity is a very important need for every human being. With the increase in population, the need for electricity use also increases, not only in households and industry. In the process of distributing electrical energy to customers, there must be power and voltage losses caused by the conductor and the distance from the distributor to the customer, and sometimes it is too large. This needs to be overcome and one of them is the addition of an insert transformer in the distribution network. This research method begins by looking for references related to the addition of an insert transformer. The next stage is to collect the necessary data with the topics to be discussed. The data obtained will be analyzed and simulated using ETAP 12.6.0 software. The results of the ETAP simulation on the 20 kV distribution network in the BLA2 feeder before adding the insert transformer to the BLA2-40/5 transformer, there is a power loss of 2.47 kW and a voltage drop of 16.92 V or 10.7%. While the addition of the load insert transformer is divided into 2, namely the BLA2-40/5 and BLA2-40/16 transformers. In the BLA2-40/5 transformer there is a power loss of 0.35 kW and a voltage drop of 3.44 V or 2.1%. While in BLA2-40/16 there is a power loss of 0.27 kW and a voltage drop of 4.65 V or 2.9%, with the addition of the transformer side it will prevent overload and improve performance in distributing electricity to customers. The profile before the addition of the insert transformer on the BLA2-40/5 bus 35 transformer was 0.124 kV or 92.41%, before the addition of the BLA2-40/5 insert transformer was 1.25 kV or 98.02%. With the addition of this insert transformer, the voltage profile is quite improved.
