Abstract

An insert transformer is an additional transformer that functions to divide the load on the transformer that is overloaded or the load is more than 80%. Starting with the number of distribution transformers that experience more loads which causes inoptimality of the service life limit of the transformer, resulting in frequent outages due to damaged transformers. The purpose of this activity is to overcome the excess load experienced by the transformer by calculating the percentage of loading, voltage drop and power loss on the conductor. The method used by comparing the results of manual calculations or using the Etap 12.6.0 simulation. The results of this study can be seen that the percentage of transformer loading when overloaded by 105.7% then after insertion of the transformer the percentage drops to 67.2%, this value has entered the tolerance set by PLN. Then the percentage of voltage falling from all three phases when overloaded is 2.4% and after insertion to 1.5%, this value is already in a better state than before. Then the transformer conducting power loss when overloaded is 2.48 kW and after insertion the transformer drops to 1,003 kW.
