Abstract

There are so many school children today who do deviant things, due to the lack of cultivation of good morals in the home environment. at this time learning in schools has been shifted to online learning due to the Covid 19 Pandemic that is hitting Indonesia and the rest of the world, so learning, especially in schools, is less than optimal. Due to the length of online learning, students are not taught much about the importance of moral development, resulting in students who do not understand the morals of decency, worship, and dress which are usually taught in schools. The role of the Islamic Religious Education teacher whose job is in schools to educate children and instill moral character has been stopped, and has been transferred to online. This will be difficult because usually educating children directly now has to go through learning application media. The purpose of this study is describe the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in fostering commendable morals, teachers also seek to find obstacles and find solutions so that students can receive maximum commendable morals, and teachers can get the results of moral development as expected. This study uses a qualitative method. The research informants were 1 PAI teacher and the principal. This study uses data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data collection, data clarification, and data inference. The results of this study indicate that: (1) PAI teachers' efforts in fostering commendable morals include monitoring worship, memorizing deposits, summarizing lectures from ustadz, delivering material related to commendable morals through group or private chat to students, giving habituation and role model for students. The media used are Microsoft Teams, Whatapps Grub and Zoom. (2) Obstacles found are students skipping class or not participating in learning, students being absent late, students not being active during learning, and students suddenly going offline when in the middle of learning. The solution put forward by the PAI teacher is to master class conditions, when there are students who are out of control the teacher must stop and advise by private chat. (3) The results of efforts to foster commendable morals in SMK Negeri 2 Sragen are generally quite good but still not satisfactory, students' morals can be seen from the morals of politeness, dress, and worship.
