Abstract

Islamic boarding school is a da'wah institution that is present in the community which is expected to be used as a moral reference in life. In Islamic boarding schools, moral education and character building are number one. has a long and important historical development and role story so that it can be well known among the Indonesian people and even the world. This type of research the author uses qualitative research. The approach used in this research is the historical approach. The source of this research can be based on two sources of data, namely primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques used in this study were interview, observation and documentation techniques. The data analysis used is in the form of criticism, and to re-correct, this study uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Based on the research conducted, data obtained in the form of, there are 3 periods in the dynamic process of the development of the modern Islamic boarding school Assalaam, the first phase is the pioneering phase, in this phase the Modern Islamic Islamic Boarding School Assalaam is still located in Punggawan still with all its limitations, besides that it is still with the curriculum which is not certain. The two phases of development, in this phase are marked by the transfer of the location of the Modern Islamic Islamic Boarding School Assalaam to the Pabelan Kartasura campus, in addition it is marked by the ownership of facilities like modern Islamic boarding schools including: dormitories, mosques, school buildings, and buildings used for offices. In this phase, Assalaam Modern Islamic Boarding School continues to improve its management and curriculum. At this stage, the public's interest in enrolling their children in Islamic boarding schools is very high. The third phase of expansion, where all the facilities and infrastructure are very adequate for the class of a modern Islamic boarding school, the education management is neatly arranged, the curriculum used is the national curriculum, the Ministry of Religion and boarding houses. The inhibiting factors in the dynamics of the development of the Modern Islamic Islamic Boarding School Assalaam include: the emergence of new lodges, language and cultural differences. Then there are the factors that drive the dynamics of the development of the Modern Islamic Islamic Boarding School Assalaam including: adequate facilities and infrastructure, competent educators, and qualified teaching staff.
