Abstract

Solar panels are devices that can convert sunlight energy into electrical energy so that it can be used for human needs. Solar cells are the constituent parts of the solar panel module and the 60 Wp solar panel used in this study consisted of 72 solar cells. A solar panel module can produce an output that varies based on the input it receives, so that the output of electrical energy produced is uncertain. This study aims to analyze the 60 Wp solar panel with 2 variations of the angle of inclination and to simulate the results of field observation data using PSIM, so that it can be known about the most optimal tilt angle of the 60 Wp solar panel electrical energy output. The data were taken at Campus 2 Field, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta with 9 hours of observation with 30 minute intervals. Based on the results of the study, the output of electrical energy in solar panels is influenced by several factors, namely ambient temperature, solar irradiation and the tilt angle of the solar panel. Observations show that the highest power output of 60 Wp solar panels is when the panel is positioned at a slope of 15° at 10.30 WIB with a power of 54.55 W. A slope of 15° produces the highest efficiency with an average efficiency of 24.32% and an average output power 33.09 W. From this research, it can be seen that solar irradiation has a higher effect on the electrical energy output of 60 Wp solar panels than the ambient temperature of the panel.
