Abstract

Celebrity Worship is a form of behavior from a one-way relationship that occurs between fans and the artist they idolize, where the person feels very obsessed with their idol. Love that is too deep can cause Celebrity Worship behavior. This phenomenon can happen to anyone, including young K-Pop fans. There are several reasons why teenagers like K-Pop, namely visual idols, music idols, performance idols, and idol attitudes. The Celebrity Worship phenomenon consists of three stages, namely social entertainment, intense personal feeling, and borderline pathological. The purpose of this study is to describe and explore the behavior of teenage boys who like K-Pop who experience Celebrity Worship. This study uses respondents with the criteria of teenage boys aged 18 – 22 years and have liked K-Pop for ± 2 years with 5 respondents. The research technique used is descriptive qualitative with interview and documentation data collection methods. Data analysis used in this method is the Interactive Model. The results of this study are that all respondents experience behavior that is in accordance with the stages of Celebrity Worship. These behaviors include always watching the content provided by their idols, finding out all information about their idols, feeling what their idols feel, and supporting idols in a way that is quite excessive.
