Abstract

The transformer is one of the important components in the substation. The transformer functions as a voltage-lowering device (step-down transformer) and a step-up transformer. In the transformer there are losses, these losses include losses caused by current flowing in the copper wire, and losses due to alternating flux in the iron core. The greater the losses generated in the transformer, the greater the power lost in the transformer. In addition, these losses can result in reduced efficiency of the transformer. Transformer efficiency is the ratio of the output power (output) and input power (input) on the transformer. This study aims to determine the losses generated by the transformer at the highest and lowest load and the efficiency generated when loading the power transformer at the 150 kV Mojosongo Substation. In data analysis, the data calculation uses the Matlab R2021a application to get accurate calculation results. From the research, the highest loss of peak afternoon load is 26,143 KW and the lowest loss is 17,225 KW, while the highest peak efficiency value is 99,909% and the lowest efficiency is 99,858%. Meanwhile, the data shows the highest night peak load loss is 24,969 KW and the lowest loss is 22,549 KW, while the highest night peak load efficiency is 99,871% and the lowest efficiency is 99,863%.
