Abstract

The Covid-19 incident resulted in all activities being shifted to online, which allowed students to lack the motivation to study and social support. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between social support and student learning motivation during online learning. A total of 140 undergraduate students from 18 to 23 years old participated in this study. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research method used is quantitative research, which is based on data collection using Google forms by distributing it to social media such as whatsapp, instagram etc. The data collection tool uses a Likert scale questionnaire to measure social support with learning motivation. Data analysis was performed by Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis using SPSS for Windows. Correlation analysis between data was performed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis in SPSS for Windows. Pearson correlation coefficient is 0.367, which means that the two variables are not equal to 0 (zero). This shows that there is a relationship between the two variables, meaning that the proposed hypothesis has been proven, and it can be concluded that the higher the social support, the higher the student's willingness to learn. On the other hand, the lower the social support, the lower the learning motivation.
