Abstract

The Indonesian nation is a pluralistic society, this plurality is characterized by diversity, including ethnic diversity. One of the tribes in Indonesia is the Javanese. The Javanese have noble cultural values that have been passed down from generation to generation, such as the attitude of tepa salira. Tepa salira is an attitude of tolerance that can create peace, harmony and tolerance between individuals. However, at this time the attitude of tepa salira as a native Javanese culture which seems to have begun to experience a shift or decline, the phenomenon of this shift is seen among teenagers. This study aims to describe the attitude of tepa salira in Javanese adolescents. The method used in this research is thematic analysis with a qualitative approach. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with a total sample of five informants who are Javanese teenagers. The results of this study indicate that current Javanese adolescents can still interpret the attitude of tepa salira well, but it is found that the attitude of tepa salira in Javanese adolescents is currently fading. The attitude of Tepa Salira that they show is also influenced by several things, such as Javanese culture itself, their family, and the environment in which they live and interact every day as well as the location of their residence.
